The Indian Rubber Institute through its branches can also play a role in helping small scale rubber manufacturing units in both R & D and testing of products with the help and cooperation from AIRIA, Rubber Board and IRMRA which will indeed help proper growth of the small scale rubber industry throughout the country.
To serve particularly the small scale rubber industry all over the country, IRI seeks support from Rubber Board, IRMRA, AIRIA, Central and State Governments for setting up of Training and R & D Centres with facilities for testing of products.
Being a national level institute with over 60 years of dedicated service to the cause of the industry’s development, there is every reason to believe that IRI’s efforts will be supported by the above mentioned agencies in appropriate manner, so that its goals and objectives are achieved.
The whole process is of mutual benefit to both the industry and IRI and it is firmly hoped that the linkages will be stronger in the years to come between IRI, academic institutions, Central and State Governments and the industry.
The Governing Council has taken a policy decision to set up training and testing centres at all the IRI branches. To begin with, the Council has decided to set up the first such centre at Kolkata in memory of Late Dr D Banerjee.
