ROLE OF IRI MEMBERS IN STANDARDIZATION
The potential in the domestic and international markets for Indian rubber products will be strengthened by the adoption of ISO 9000 series of standards by the rubber industry. Senior members of IRI have participated in the field of standardisation from the inception of Indian Standard Institution (ISI), now known as Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and also with the activities of the International Standards Organisation, viz. ISO/TC 45 and other bodies.
Three senior IRI members, the late Mr. S. V. Lathia, Mr. M. M. Patel and Dr. Saikat Das Gupta were conferred long service awards by the ISO/TC 45 Committee for their distinguished services and contributions.
